You may not be able to remember the last time – if ever – you could let your children off on their own, without worrying that they’re safe and cared for. At Colorado Trails Ranch, you can rest easy… knowing they’re safe, cared for, and having fun.

Children in this age group – we call them Buckaroos – can try all kinds of new activities and, because they’re surrounded by their peers (as opposed to big kids), not feel any pressure to perform. Although there’s no pressure here, there are a lot of smiles and giggles… and a lot of “Mommy, Daddy – guess what I did today!!!”

The following are some of the activities included in the Buckaroos' program; they all include instruction, to whatever degree your child needs or wants:

• horseback riding
• horseback games in the riding arena
• picnic lunch horseback ride
• fishing
• half-day river rafting trip
• swimming
• nature hikes
• scavenger hunts
• petting zoo
• archery
• rifle shooting
• arts & crafts
• basketball
• volleyball
• horseshoes
• western dancing
• hayride
• cookout and games for Buckaroos (ages 5-8); overnight campout for brave Buckaroos
• cookout, awards ceremony, and farewell festivities

Remember: The three groups of our children’s program come together during the day, so brothers and sisters have plenty of time to hang out together at our guest ranch, no matter their age.
