ranch facilities

Just as there are activities for everyone at Colorado Trails Ranch – no matter your age or interest – there are a lot of different facilities to enjoy!

One of the first things that will strike you about the ranch is what we call the Western Town… a series of buildings that look just like what you’d find in towns of days long ago. Those buildings include the:

  • Opera House – where evening activities such as square dancing are held
  • Ruckus Room – a great gathering place for kids, with ping pong, air hockey, foosball, a pool table, and a small lending library
  • Soda Fountain – offering old-fashioned milkshakes, banana splits, malts, and phosphates
  • Trading Post – t-shirts, Western hats, sweatshirts, sunscreen and other sundries are offered, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting any of the basics
  • the fly fishing center (located in the Blacksmith Shop) – here you can get rods, reels, boots, waders… everything you need for fishing
  • Colorado Trails Ranch office
  • guest telephone room

The Main Lodge overlooks a secluded valley and is where guests at our first-class dude ranch enjoy delicious meals. The Lodge Loft offers a great place for adults to enjoy their coffee while reading the morning paper. And you can sneak upstairs to the Loft anytime with a good book or to play a game of pool on the adults-only pool table.

Other facilities include:

  • heated swimming pool
  • hot tub
  • archery range
  • rifle range
  • basketball court
  • laundry room (free washers and dryers and detergent)
  • cabins
  • volleyball court
  • horseshoe pit
  • petting zoo (with goats and miniature horses that kids love!)

Colorado Trails Ranch is only 12 miles northeast of the historic western town of Durango, Colorado. Our 450 acres are nestled in a scenic mountain valley that adjoins the two-million acre San Juan National Forest. The ranch's elevation is 7,500 feet. Come play with us!
